I've collected all the parts for a mini-truck PS conversion in my 55 EXCEPT the box mount, but just ran across a 55 carcass with a Scout PS box still mounted, along with the steering shaft that goes up to the upper u-joint of the steering column.
What would the advantages be of doing the Scout/Sag PS, vs the mini-truck?
I've seen in this forum people who have reinforced the frame where the Scout box mounts; is this absolutely necessary? If not, is the box just a bolt-on (into new drilled holes)?
