Kinda stoked. Picked up a rather decent 95 yesterday.

186K, runs and drives great. California car always. All original VIN stickers, and total original paint. not a dent anywhere. Decent interior, everything works except couldn't get the rear locker to engage (front one did). I'll end up taking both actuators out and going through them.

brand new brakes/rotors.

never seen any dirt, total soccer mom car.

Needs the magic plastic gears for the front pass seat (won't go back and forth), and the top seam of the radiator seeps. Needs a good detail.

$3K

so plan is to strip this down to the cowl, modify and lay in my JDM diesel wiring harness, and swap in the 1HD-FT and auto box.

But first I've got to do the headgasket on the 97, then I'll get into this one.

I'm happy!

JAFW80. Well there is your solution for that extra motor. Nice job!

I have the same car in worse condition with 156K and I paid like 7, you got a screaming deal. Mine does have some maintenance, 35s, and sliders though.

Hey Scott!

Naw, I was originally going to diesel-ize the 97, but it's got too few miles and is so damn pretty, I just couldn't bring myself to start cutting. So I'm gonna fix the motor and sell it.

Maybe one day I'll do another 80 conversion, but this time with a 5-speed, because I don't have another harness and junk necessary for the auto transmission. Or I suppose I could run the older fully-hydraulic auto box. Anyway, that's all in the future.

Or I'll just keep it as a spare engine.

Nice talking with you the other day. Looks like we'll be in ATL Mar 7,8,9, flying out the 10th. You gonna be around then?

My wife looked at the pix and commented that it looked like our house... with 3 land cruizers in the driveway.... A cruizer habit is not a bad thing.... good luck on the swap, keep us posted....

That is funny! I wasn't even thinking about the others when I shot that.

Actually, I've got 4 of these things now. the 4th is an identical twin of this white one, only 97 instead of 95. Other than that, they are indistinguishable from each other.

The 8th is my mom's b-day. Other than that, I think that we should be able to work out a beverage/dinner at some point while you are here. I look forward to making that happen. I have a really interesting (live alligators) jazz club (Dante's Down the Hatch)that I like to treat out of towners to. Let me know if you and your wife & friends would like to do dinner one of those nights. I am friends with the owner and will get us a nice table if you are interested.
