After reading through all the threads on after-market seat heaters, I'm looking for some help on this. Here's my setup:
  1. FZJ80 with OEM seat heater plugs (not in use currently).
  2. Scheel-Mann heated seats fully wired direct to the battery with appropriate fusing and relays.
  3. OEM switches from Japan (84751-60010, 84751-60020)
Do I use the OEM seat heater plugs and OEM switch and just splice the SM wires into that? If so, would someone please help me connect the dots between OEM and SM?

@Feldrian kindly posted the following for the OEM harness [() denotes RHS]:

Pin 2 (1) - +12V
Pin 7 (5) - Hi signal (to SM harness)
Pin 5 (3) - Low signal (to SM harness)
Pin 6 (4) - ground
Pin 3 (2) - backlight
Pin 6 (8) - backlight ground

SM (see pics)
Red/Orange (1)
Red (2)
Red Blue (3)
Black (7)

I'd get the connectors that mate to the OEM harness. Look on the back of the connector housing, there's a 5 digit number embossed there. Get a copy of the Wiring Harness Repair Manual (it's in the 80 series section of the Resources forum), and search for that number. There's a matrix that lists the male/female combinations. You can get the part number for the mating housing from there.

Now you need terminals. My recommendation is Ballenger Motorsports.

Check that the connector housings use Type II terminals; I think they do, but check anyway. That info is also in the Harness Manual, in the front; flip through the housings and you'll see what you need.
They also have a terminal crimper. I like this one, but you can use whatever you'd like.

@Malleus grateful for your response. I have the connectors that go from the OEM switch to the OEM harness. My challenge is connecting the four wires from the Scheel Mann heated seats. Do I simply spice them into the OEM connector, between the switch and the harness, or something else altogether.

In the attached pic, the connector for the R seat is background and the four wires from one of the Scheel Mann seats is foreground.

Yes. Cut off the terminals in the seat connector and crimp on the Toyota (Sumitomo) terminals. Insert them into the new mating housing.

You cannot use the seat's connector housing. You need a new mating housing for the OEM harness. The OEM seat heater pinouts are in the EWD.

Getting this sorted out?

If you are looking to simply swap the Scheelmann switch to OEM, here is the wires coordinating wires to do so. I just swapped switches and ran power leads to the accessory Fuseblock I have in the interior. Thanks to all the info on here that helped make it easy to source switches and pin out info. Both seat heaters on HI pulls 10amps. I chose to avoid the existing?? JDM seat heater circuit since I have my fuseblock under my seater it wasn’t much effort.

@Shoredreamer much appreciated. Given your setup:

Does the OEM switch light up High and Low when in those modes?

From the wiring schematic, the OEM switches have two terminals each for illumination (LS 3 and 8, RS 2 and 6). It appears that you didn't connect into those, so I'm very curious if the OEM switch lights up in your setup.

Update on my heated seat installation. Found a local electrician genius who helped solved the issue. Long story short, the OEM switch was at odds with the SM harness as the SM harness included a relay. The OEM switch itself operates as a relay, so they were effectively cancelling each other out.

He sourced the power from the OEM seat heater circuit, and spliced in the SM seat pads accordingly and it's all good to go now.

Special thanks to @Malleus for his persistent and patient assistance. Of course, @BILT4ME for helping me for years on this build.
