Hitting the road this Wed. and will be going east through St. George on our way to SLC for our first night and then on to WYO. We don't have much time, the wife did want to know if there is at least an exit we can take that would give us a tease and a photograph of the beauty in the park. We most definitely won't have time to go in the park. Thanks!

Kolob Canyon. I think there is a nice scenic drive, right off the highway.

Kanarraville Falls, is a great little slot canyon hike. It's a one way in-out hike, so spend as much time there as you can spare. It will take about an hour to get to the first "falls". Once you get to the creek, 90% of the hike is in ankle deep water - nice and cool.

Dumb question from an easterner - What state is this were talking about?

If I finally do the cross country next year I can use all the tips I can get.

Kolob is an easy detour....you could probably not even pay the entrance fee if you don't linger.

The Cedar Pocket exit off of 15 once you are in the Virgin River Gorge is a favorite break area of mine.

J,

Its just a short drive off I-15, but hit Zion Nat'l Park. Short maintained paths along the Virgin River and a few shuttles. Nice part day detour in our opinion. Hwy 9 off I-15 all the way to the park. Or I-15 to Hwy 59 through IH8MUD headquarters to Hwy 9 to the park!

Yes... I've always wanted to check out the Arizona strip off-road trails.

Cedar Pocket is more of a pi$$ break. But there is a bit of a view and some cool desert vegetation right there in the little camp area. It is too bad the I-15 is so close. AZ Strip is cool
