Scenic camping this weekend...1?!

Hey yall I have some family in town and we want to go camping this weekend. Maybe a little wheeling.

What would be a good scenic, watery, off road trail. Buena vista area perhaps?

Bottom of China Wall comes to mind for scenery and water. Wheeler Lake would be good, or Grizzly Lake.

Heck for that matter the Gulches would be good too. Metberry ends at the south platte and you can camp right there. Nice and close too.

There is always the Lake City to Ouray area...very scenic...tons of 4wd...not as much water...but its my favorite area...

I will be in Ouray tomorrow for a few nights. No wheeling, just family stuff. My favorite part of the state too.

Check balanced rock road off of rampart. You drive down to a big reservoir and can take a little hike almost around it. My son loves it there.

Dude! Wheeler lake looks awesome BUT hard. I want to go but not alone. if anyone wants to head up there soon some weekend lmk.

So went to buena vista and camped off cottonwood lake. It was very pretty but too well developed roads for me. There were many turn offs inwanted to take but I had some passengers with me who panicked if we didn't stay exactly on course.

Im thinking of making another trip next wkend the 16th and really explore. A little mini expo trip per se. Lol

Wheeler lake looks awesome but I'm not sure I wanna wheel it alone. Any other trails that fit the bill?
