The only reason I was going to do it that way was to have a more "finished" edge where the slider meets the body. The truck already makes a bunch of racket from the IPOR skid plate rubbing like an undersexed monkey.

I just went back and looked at that picture of him cutting the rockers with the grinder right in front of his face...wow, if it let go like mine did he would have half a nose right now. I didn't actually hear mine explode, I heard it hit the wall right when I felt it catch on the metal.

Try to keep up here.. We don't believe in safety equipment!:bang:

All jokes aside, I have had one of those cutoff wheels explode in my face and it wasn't much fun.

Yeah, but you're used to things exploding in your face.

Plasma cutter here?
It's time to do damage.
I also think you should remove the fender slike me... look at all the clearance you will get once removed and the wheel wells cut out...

Still no plasma.
Not planning on removing the fenders. That's just plain fugly. May cut the liners out though.

Fender will not work well without the liner... plus you'll get crap up there.. leave it if you're keeping the fender.
I plan on removing the fenders, cutting the liner, and then somehow flattening the fender back on... but with that much more space... It'll work.
I gotta learn to weld and then just buy a welder.

We shall see! The liner just makes the outer edge of the fender a little more rigid.
"Crap up there".. Really? Did you not see what was trapped between the fender and the liner last week?

I could start my own mud park with the mud that has come out from under this truck!

Got a little bit more done tonight. Finished cutting out the rocker on the left side. Started building sliders. As it turns out, I can weld pretty damn decent. Joey, on the other hand...

On to the pics!

That is all for today. Should have another update tomorrow evening.

How's that beast cutting? easier? less messy?
damn. wish I'd known. I worked on some junk too though.

Easier than using the cutoff wheel, but still not what you would call "easy".
It took us about three hrs to do what you see here! Also found out that the plasma is about 35% duty cycle so you can't just run it full bore for very long because it has to cool down between cycles.

Who's white junk pic'd above?

one i found in the 80's section. I just needed something showing how big the wheel wells were

Got a little more done last night, but I forgot the camera.
Got the borrowed wheels and tires mounted. ready to ride this weekend! Make sure to bring a cooler with some water/beers. It's supposed to be hot as hell Saturday!
