My original SBC had nothing but an alternator and air conditioner, with the alt hung so far out on the DS that someone had to pound the inner fender in for it to clear.

Now I'm looking at power steering, alternator, air conditioner, and possible OBA. Where should I be looking for brackets and pulleys to build that up? Is there a GM car or truck model that had a configuration that works well in the 55 bay?

Thanks

I would say cruise down to your local junkyard and shop all the chevy's looking for a complete set of brackets. Just looking under the hood will give you a real good idea what will fit. If you have bolt holes in the heads (older chevy heads had no bolt holes, all the brackets were off of the the block itself) you could even possibly go serpentine with a single belt. Those systems are decently compact. Now that I say that I am thinking I should go on down to my friendly local junkyard and pick up a complete serpentine set up for my pig town....
