Man, how does MoJ keep his wheels looking so good?

You can see why B&D has that exo-skeleton!

In the end, I had a really great time, though I felt pretty bad for Steve when he kissed that tree.

Thanks to everyone who came out - and a special thanks to B&D, MoJ and WFD for entertaining us on the Hill & Dale trail even while suffering through the bordom of such an easy trail.

It seemed like even the kids had a good time - and it certainly was a beautiful day! Dan and I watched as the hardcore group headed down trail 5, then we swung around and started down the back of trail 5 looking for the 'big hill' that MoJ promised. We got side-tracked though talking with the only 'all female' off-roading group I've ever met :cheers::cheers:, and we never did see the other cruisers again.

Now I'm off to spend the next few days buffing the Ozark pinstripes out of my black paint :frown:

Great pics guys! I wish I could have gone.

You should have gone down trail 5 William. With a little spotting at the start a stock fj80 can make it.

I attempted that waterfall too during the TAC event. That left side is pretty nasty, especially if there is water at the bottom. I made it up the right side though. I didn't feel too bad since the rock buggy on 42's I was with had to go at it about 6 times to make it up the left side.

Anyway, I look forward to next months meeting to hear all the details.

William -
Sorry we missed you on trail 5....we thought you guys were taking off. After going through the rocks we made a pit stop and realized that B&D had a busted rear shock and was missing one of the u-bolts which hold his rear axle on. We spent 30 mins looking for the missing parts but he finally trail rigged it and then we ran into a traffic jam at "Get it Billy." Joe and I watched the buggies try to climb for a while and then headed out. The hill climb was great! You would have enjoyed it.

I had two issues that kept us from meeting up with you as discussed.

First, my last minute CB radio wiring was slowly working lose all day long and finally disconnected altogether just as you guys started down trail 5. I tried to radio you to stop your truck for some posed pics, but it was dead. I could have wired up something else, but it was the end of the day and I figured it didn't really matter.

Second, we started down trail 5 from the back side and we were immediately stopped by two Jeeps blocking the trail - they were two all-female groups that stopped to chat b/c they were surprised to see another all-female group on the trail (not as surprised as us :)). Both groups were from Columbia and in their around 30ish and super friendly once they determined Dan and I were harmless married old dudes :frown:. After 20-30 minutes of talking about other trails we already completed and the abilities of the cruiser, we spun around and headed for home (they were still parked on the trail and chatting when we left).

We made a wrong turn onto ZZ and ended up way out - but got some great scenic views of what I think was the Current river (maybe the Black or Jack's Fork, not sure).

I'll definately be heading back before the year is out - maybe sometime after Thanksgiving for a late fall/early winter run. I will defintately have sliders by then though, and I'm looking at some 35" rubber, but I don't want to commit to a gear change just yet, so that may have to wait.

Thanks again for the fun!

There is a classic bronco group going out there on New Years Day that a friend of mine is involved with. I may try to go then if anyone else is interested.

I definately CANNOT go New Year's Day - too many family requirements that whole week.

My best shot for a return trip is probably sometime after Thanksgiving at the end of November or early December.
