@ the end of Felicita @ Ash (HW78)

Not far at all. I'm at Felicita and Alexander Dr. between Centre City Pkwy and the 15.

I am in Socal and would love to join up for the PHH party if there is one and there is room. I am not very mechanically saavy but I do want to learn. I already have the hose/clamp kit (2 actually since I need to do both rigs:crybaby: ). I have the basic tools (dremel included) and can provide food/beverages. Please let me know. Smit

Looks like this one petered out. Did the PHH party ever happen?

I'm in Escondildo. Grew up in Tierrasanta. I've searched (although half heartedly) for a Cruiser club in SD. I've got a 40 and an 80. More interested in the 80 at the moment as my 40 is on the "rack" with no engine and no budget to fix it. Plus the 80 is new to me. I'd be into meeting some 80Heads. I'm into turning wrenches as well. I help out neighbors when I can. I’ve done head gaskets, brakes, suspension, timing chains/belts/gears, transfer and tranny swaps, carb rebuilds, wheel bearings/seals, u-joints, etc. Although I’ve done none of these things to the 80. Wrenched VW’s, Fords, Jeeps, GM’s, Honda’s, Toyota’s, diesels, and gassers. I’m not extremely technical, but if it’s got instructions, I can do it.

Sounds like a freaky singles ad.:o

One more in San Diego ... I would be up for PHH fixin. I could probably use a SD mudder to help me with an OME spring replacement at the end of summer. UTC Area 805 and Miramar.

I'm socially lazy, but would definitely be up for a San Diego based excursion. Can we have our wives and girlfriends work out all the details? That's the only way I ever get anything done.

I just did an OME lift. It was a piece of cake and it's fresh in my mind. I work just north of UTC and would be willing to share what I picked up reading this forum. Let me know when you're approaching being ready.

One piece of advice in advance... start hitting the bolts with a penetrating spray every few days about a month in advance. all of my bolts came off super easy, and I think that was probably why.

Well, don't have an 80 but I'm live in the La Mesa/Lake Murray area and willing to lend a helping hand. (As soon as I get back from deployment!!)

I just bought a big place up in the hills of La Jolla, nice garage... we could do it there. No, not really, just kid'n. :flipoff2:

I was ready to quit my job and live in your garage :grinpimp:

Check out the SoCal 80's section in the Clubhouse Corner, there's been talk of having a PM party, possibly in the Mission Viejo area.

I'm located near Lake Elsinore, so I'm midway between SD and OC. I'd be up for a wrenching day at either location, or I could possibly host it as a central location for the SD, OC, LA, IE, and beyond groups.

Post up in the SoCal 80's Section.

Hey Dudes way to revive an old thread...............

I'm in Clairemont off the 805 & Balboa(behind the Mosque--you know which one)

Got a 60 but always interested in all Cruisers

Almost bought an 80 for the wife but got her a Dodge Magnum(the in-laws money)

Check last Saturday's(6-24) Union Tribune 'Drive' section for a good article on the Corral Canyon OHV area.......we should caravan to that someday.....it's too friggin hot there now..........late summer is best

Also:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=82889&highlight=BRONCO+PEAK

and there's a trail there called "Sidewinder" my 'Guide to Southern California Backroads & 4WD Trails' sez it's "1 mile and you can make it in 1 hour if everything goes well"

Funny story...........on the 60 board I answered a request to a guy named Carpe Discus about smogging the 60(it's effing tough).....turns out the guys lives near me....Balboa & Clairemont Dr........so yesterday moring I'm leaving for work and I see this guy on a bicycle waving at me......."Hey I'm the Land Cruiser guy!" turns out it was him, whom I'd 'met' the day before.............

If ya see me 'round honk & wave!

Hey, is that Los Pinos Lookout trail near Buckman Springs. It look like it. It's been years since I've been there though. I used to go out the alot. IIRC, we use to call it 4 corners (maybe that's what it's really called??). Use to ride dirt bikes, Mtn bike, and 4x in that area.

I guess it is 4 Corners. I just READ the posts. Here is a shot with a Bud's Bronco in that area. I had my Tundra then.
