Well,
I just returned from a 7 day trip into the Inyo's. A friend of mine is conducting research for a book on the tram. We began our trip hiking the east side up the south side of Daisy Canyon; detailing each tower. After 3 days on the mountain, we headed for Lone Pine to refit. After a shower, rest, some beer and pizza, we climbed the Swansea Grade the next day to the summit station. We spent another 3 days exploring the summit station area and hiking down to control station 2 detailing each of those towers.

Very interesting, I never knew about the Salt Tram, and great pics too.
 
Ya Derrick - that thing runs 13.5 miles from the Saline Valley to the Owens Valley. There are some amazing things to see in the Inyo's if you get off the beat and path.
