Salsa Horsethief - anyone ride one?

Thinking about a new ride. Found a decent deal on a horsethief. Would be basically a single mtb for all my uses. Thoughts from anyone who's ridden one?

My current ride is a motobecane fantom 29 - hardtail 29er with a reba and xt 9spd components. Maybe I'll keep the motobecane components and build up a chinese carbon HT? Or just send it on to a new home.
Looking for something a little more comfortable for the long trail days around Utah that often involve both climbing, single track, and some mild downhill.

my buddy has the old style. he loves it. the way the rear suspension works would have me concerned, but it's not the first time that design has been used.

I've ridden a jellybean a bunch and I will give my full endorsement to salsa cycles. Not a fan of fully suspended bicycles but if I were....salsa horsethief.

My thumper is pretty much the exact same bike, stoked to get it built up soon.
