Safari Snorkle

hey guys,

need some help with my snorkle. Bought a 02/79 fj40, PO installed a safari snorkle. When I bought it he said he lost the tube from the snorkle to the air breather housing. Any suggestions on what I can replace it with or anyone know where I can just buy the tube?

Rubber-flex hose (dryer vent hose)

Definately not the best long-term suggestion, but it might work in the time being...
Go to Lowe's / Home Depot and buy some of the "rubber dryer hose" and connect it with tie wraps / silicone sealer. They sell both the aluminum and rubber flex hose. The rubber flex hose should work good until you can find a replacement factory tube.

On my '79, I used a NAPA P/N BK825-6038 - 3-1/8"X32". That is a "Balkamp" part.

This fits both ends nicely. It has it's own clamp, but I added SS hose clamps on both ends.

I'm not sure what my particular Safari came off of, but when installed, it made the carb fan unusable in it's stock location. The snorkel (which was obtained from Ebay at a great price) came through the side panel at about the same place the carb fan's curved snout sat. I'm working on relocating the carb fan. The length on your may differ if your snorkel is different, but the diameter should be cool.
