We have a member in our club his screen name is Capt. Jim. He's got a buddy who has the tail pipe up to his roof. All the guy did was take some pipe, welded on a 90 degree piece and then extended the tube up to the roof. Put a support piece half way up to keep it from moving. Capt. Jim may be able to get ya in contact with the guy and then maybe ya could get some pics. I would definately extend your pipe up to the roof, I'd hate to be in the water and stall out. Easy and very cheap modification to save your engine. Good luck.

I would be very interested to see the pictures! Let him know my email or post pictures here!

Yeah post up some pictures if you can. Think it would look funny with your exhaust high like that. Like the truckers with those dual exhaust stacks behind the cabs.

umm you can send him a private message if ya want to. Screen name is Capt. Jim. he has a 40 so he's probably not in the 60 section too often

Safari Exhaust

When I worked in Bolivia in the 1980's we made two or more river crossings everyday up to the door handles without any modifications and without any problems. It was fun at night as the headlights were underwater and it was hard to keep on the correct track. I drove FJ-60's, FJ-70's and FJ-75 pickups. The pickups had a nasty habit of floating away if not loaded in the back. The website I had pictures posted on is no longer in service as I have pictures.

Yep. I've run the headlights under with no snorkel a few times myself. Kind spooky when everyhting goes dark! And I agree about the pickups. When they're empty they tail will go with the current awful easy. :(

I found a picture a while back of a 60 pulling out a toyota truck sunk to the axles with the exhaust running out the behind the snorkle on the passenger side. But I redid my computer and somehow I lost just that one photo

Looked real clean and I've been debating going that way for a bit because that eliminates the exhaust tubing underneath. I've just been trying to work out safety of passengers with that hot pip and noise

If anyboby has/knows where that pic is, I would like to grab it again

Cheers
Geoff
