On my last outing with my 40 I toasted my shifter cable beyong belief. Guessing it has been getting cooked on and off for years judging from the amount of melting.

Some guy in a fj50 mentioned some product that he had that would solve the problem. I am wondering if someone knows what he was talking about.

Found this but believe I need something to slip around the cable but not threading the cable through it due to the fittings on each end.

maybe a new shifter will help with that too....get an Art Carr and be done with it
 
Pfft, just do what I did, and pull all the guts out of that B&M and be done with it.
 
The shifter is fine for now seeing as I am on the broke side these days.

Later I wil lchange it out. For now I plan to tear the gates of hell out and see what happens. Then again, I might just leave it and deal with it later. I just need to be sure the cable doesn't end up looking like the previous one.

Is the stuff you have similar to what I found? I am cool with buying it but wanted to know if I was looking at the right crap. Shifter cable is on order, hope to see it soon so I can get back to the Cliffs and ruin the next thing!

It looks like the same kind of stuff. The stuff I got came from a NASCAR builder, so it's supposed to be pretty good stuff. Maybe why that's why my truck only wants to turn left.

Had I not been loading up and strapping down, I might have had time to load you up with some extra mud.

Know one thing though, now that this a****** has seen the "what to wear" while wheeling at the cliffs, the wardrobe and time piece will be considerably different the next time around. The a****** will blend in like a camillian (sp?).

I will order up some heat wrap on my own, save yours for your cable that's most likely melting as I type.

By the way, you are being aweful fu-kin mean aren't you!

I had to jump in my truck to get it off the trailer, then teach for the next 7 hours with these brown stains on my ass.

and I just got done powerwashing the truck after running the sprinkler all day. Washing cliffs mud off yer rig will make anybody mean.
