Ive heard of rust bullet and heard good things about it.
Ben had used it as well and he recommended it highly. I wanted to use a good paint for the frame and noticed (after purchasing POR15 from Summit and realized that the prep involved wouldnt be worth it) that Summit carried Rust bullet.
I decided to test in my leaf spring pack...
I have to say, I LOVE THIS SH!T! The coat itself is nothing too spectacular, but the crap dries HARD AS NAILS! I was expecting to at least be able to guff it the following morning...NO WAY. Its SOLID! There is really no real prep involved either...surface needs to be dry and loose scale removed. You can paint it right over the rust! I just wiped the surface with acetone and painted.
The trick I had found with using a roller is to do a LIGHT first coat. It covers pretty well and is self leveling, but if you put it on too thick, it will get some small tiny bubbles. Not a big deal, but...I want to do it the best I can. I learned this on the first side of the springs I painted. The second side came out pretty well. Light coat with the roller, and then a 2nd coat.
The only down side that I can mention is that you have to wait at least 2 hours between coats per the directions. Cant wait to coat the frame now.:bounce::bounce2:

Just FYI!

Thanks! I was pondering what to use on the new 60 bumper.

you can come over and check out the springs if you want. Like I said...the finish is not as "pretty" as the appliance black rust o leum that we had been using, but its okay. I got a quart of it and it goes a long way because you apply it thin for the best result. By its nature, its pretty viscus right out of the can.
