I am trying to wire a house bank in the rear of my 97 LX450. I have the whole thing diagramed out and ready to go in, but hit a bit of a snag with running the wire for the charger to the rear. It's always the simple things, right?

I had planned, based on advice here, to run it through the unused grommet on the driver side to keep the run short in the engine bay, then down the channel on the driver side to the rear quarter panel. After that, I was going to run it under my drawers to a QPM on the passenger side. All using conduit ofc.

The problem with this approach is that there is a very large conduit on my car down the DS channel already and 0 room in the plastic channel or behind it. Both sides conduit get much smaller in the 2nd row, so they must terminate at the driver seat (assuming alarm/seat power), so getting anything from that point rearward is fine, it's just the front seat. I can squeeze, just barely, a 1/2in conduit under the passenger side.

The problem is, I'm trying to avoid adding a long run of the wire through the engine bay if I can avoid it. I could run wire through the passenger side grommet and then the wire through the engine compartment, but I'd prefer to avoid that if possible. I did try running it from the passenger side to behind the shift console near the HVAC output up front then to the grommet, but I couldn't find a safe way to route the wire to the driver side grommet there above the pedals or up into the steering console. If I run it under the driver seat, then I face the same problem that there isn't room for the conduit or cable.

I feel like I'm missing something simple/dumb here, but was wondering if anyone else ran into this issue with a 450 and how they routed it? If the passenger side with a longer run through the engine compartment is the only way then so be it, but seems like folks think you can get it past the driver seat and I'm curious how or if this only applies to older 80s.

Thanks!

EDIT: To simplify, here is what I tried:
Engine compartment -> Passenger grommet -> Channel on passenger side -> Quarter panel - this works, but you have to run wire all the way around the engine compartment, which I'd like to avoid
Engine compartment -> Driver grommet -> Channel on driver side -> anywhere - This does not work, lack of space
Engine compartment -> Driver grommet -> behind HVAC blower on shift console -> passenger side tunnel -> quarter panel - I couldn't find a safe way to secure the cable above the pedals between the grommet and console

Anywhere from second seats backwards is fine.

I ran 4 awg from my 2nd battery (passenger side) all the way to the rear of the Cruiser so I could run my compressor while sitting on the tailgate.
I eventually upgraded the compressor. The new compressor was pulling enough current to trip the 60A breaker, so I had to upgrade the wire and breaker. The original 4AWG wire was a tight fit in the channel along the side of the front and rear passengers seats, but I made it work. The 2AWG that replaced it was significantly tighter. I had to unsheath the OE harness to the rear to give me millimeters of additional clearance.

I ran 4AWG through the passenger-side grommet and crossed over on the ledge under the cowl to keep it away from engine heat. I like the passenger-side grommet because a second 4AWG can be added easily if power demands increase. I'm using the frame for the ground path.

Thanks for the answers. Sounds like passenger side is the only real way to go, I had hoped for a cleaner path through the driver side, but there's just no room.

Appreciate the replies!
