Running into an old friend

I parked this 76 series in a remote location in a Southwest Asian country back in 2012.

Magic Carpet Ride

Fast forward to today, and I am back in that same location, and happened upon the same Land Cruiser, only in somewhat sadder shape.

The rear axle had been plundered of parts and the tires were in horrific shape. Just because, I found a mechanic and we fabricated new leaf packs for it out of whatever we could find.

To our amazement, it still runs and drives, though the tires are too far gone and I wouldn't trust the leaf packs for anything serious. Kind of fun to have Magic Carpet back, though.

I "deserted" it because it isn't mine (company truck) and it is not importable, being a 2008.
