Why are you afraid of running down into the hood area? There is a very easy way of running wires to the roof completely concealed without drilling holes or going through the rear hatch or doorways, but you have to run the wires to under the hood.
It's very easy to get them from under the hood through a grommet in the firewall and you don't have the possibility of leaks.
