Hi Tom,I've got a pair of running boards off of a 2003 LX that have no rust that I've been trying to give away for free on Facebook Marketplace for about 3 months.
I'm out of town until Friday 4/10.
Once I'm home, I'll confirm that the brackets can easily be separated from the rest of the running boards.
If they can be separated, you can just pay me for the shipping of the brackets.
You may want to compare the parts diagrams for early (98 to 02) and late (03 to 07) to make sure the brackets are the same.
Note: Personally, I'd just remove the running boards.
Spray the bolts / nuts with PB Blaster multiple times over several days before you remove them, and try to clean the threads with a wire brush prior to removal.
There's only a couple of them that are hard to access.
There's 8 or 10 fasteners per side, plus 1 electrical connection.
I've done the running board delete, then added front splash / mud guards, on 3 100 series.
They look so good without running boards...
Enjoy.
Tom
I had a chance this weekend to go under the car and the back bracket was completely bent from the rust. I couldn’t remove the entire running board because the one bolt all the way in the front is a PITA. Waiting on some new sockets because it obliterated my 14 mm socket when one of the rusty bolts got stuck in it.Hello LexusX470,
Did you confirm that it's the brackets that are rusted and not your inner rockers?
If you still want / need the brackets, do you want just the driver side or both sides?
I've got both sides ready to send, just want to make sure they are what you need.
Please send me your address for the shipping quote.
Enjoy.
Tom
