I have put BFG on my 2011 LX 570 with stock rims. They howl something awful (6000 miles rotated at 4500). Just had 60.000 mile check up. No issues with car.

Headed back to Discount to see what issues there may be with tires. Any one else have this issue? It only does it at certain speeds. That changed when tires were rotated. First 1000 miles no issues. Since then, it sounds horrible.

Have BFG on F150. No noise. I have ran BFGs on 1997 LX. No issues.

I have KO2’s on my LX 285/55/20. I rotated mine front to rear two times at 5000 miles the third time I had them rebalanced at discount tire because it was free since I bought them there, and it howled for about 500 miles and we’re quiet again. I had them measured for wear after 15,000 miles and discount tire was amazed at how little wear it was little less than 1 mm at this rate I should easily get 80,000 miles out of this set of KO2’s tires. Are you having a strange wear pattern? what size KO’2’s do you have on your LX?

Verify your alignment first. I’ve been getting around 60k on a set of KO2s. Are you lifted? Running stock UCAs?

Stock vehicle, stock rims. No issue with alignment.

The BFG's I put on are LT 275/55r20. No wear issue.

The Recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure for the LT275/55R20 KO2's on your LX570 is 46psi Front/Rear.

If you are running them much below that it might be a contributing factor to your noise issue.

It doesn’t take much to make “wear issue”. An almost imperceptible feathering on the tread blocks can cause a howl for a while if the tires reverses direction in a rotation. I hope DT can take a careful look at them and help you out.

I second checking the tire pressure. Discount Tire (as do most tire shops) have a habit of filling the tires to the door jamb recommended pressure (36psi). Nevermind that 36psi is for P series tire. K02 are LT tires, and I found that even at 40psi were very mushy. I run them at 47-48psi and I'm very happy.

I run mine at 41 psi. That's on a 17 inch rim (Rock Warrior). No issues with noise at all.

I run 40 psi cold on 275/70/18 and have 52k on them. They are getting louder as the mileage gets higher, but were surprisingly quiet when newer.

That shouldn’t be happening. If the pressure doesn’t fix it, I’d push for a warranty swap. Are all 4 making the noise or just one? You could swap with your spare to pinpoint the problem tire.

I had a ton of issues with the original KOs with noise and balancing, including warranty swaps. The KO2s are much better, shouldn't be howling, especially at such low mileage. As others have said, these tires wear very slowly. Probably the slowest wearing AT I have run (at the expense of poor ice traction).

Since you just put the rears on the front, the rears could have had issues (when installing new tires, tire shops will put the two tires that balance worst on the rear).

Get a wear indicator and see if wear is even across the tread. You should have very little wear at this point.

Take in as soon as possible to see about warranty replacement.

I can't pinpoint which tire it is coming from yet.

Thanks for all the support. They were at 38 psi, I have them at 46 psi. Currently. It has helped.

Good to hear. Glad it helped. Thanks for the feedback.
