Jeff, picked up your reg last night, all set. thanks for the Churchill!

I'll give you a call soon and go over your plans.

Being as Lori is coming, we'll have to ensure she has a great time...

but tell her to keep her clothes during Marauder bar, although dancing on the bar is allowed. :)

Dang, Micheal, Jeff and Lori... now if Amy comes along w/ James, this year will be over the top.

Tony, did ya get Emmy & I's reg. ? is there anything we can do to help ? Emmy would love a job at Rubithon, would make her day. Maybe we could come up with a kid treat to pass out at reg booth. Some little toy or something. I would be willing to go to dollar store and purchase and deliver if you give me approx. kid count and approval on idea. I'll hit up dollar store for ideas and run em past ya, if we find somethin good then so be it if not then we let it die, yeah or nay ?

Tony - Looks like as of right now both Amy and Lu are going too, we are bringing the runner.
Btw, Looking for a fairly fresh longfield (stock splines) to finally replace the last one of the ones Ranger Jeff ran through the Con in the red truck like ten plus years ago. Props to Bobby Long for a great product, those were seriously trail tested!! Oh yeah the bent Marlink lives on too. Are you guys going to make it to funday??

CAREFUL TONY!!

Looks like John is tryin to set up some Rubithon Child Day Care, sure just drop the kid off at the booth and go enjoy the day, wink wink nudge nudge.

James,
I've got a set of the original longfields I can bring to fun day for you.

Dave

I was planning to haul my 2 little girls up for the day. It will be my first funday even... looking forward to it!

Gee, I thought offering to provide prizes for the kiddies would be a great idea.
I had no intention of daycare.
I'll think again before offering to buy stuff for kids in the future, shame cause the kids sorta get left out at Rubithon.
Yup, must be careful:meh:

actually John, Dave T. always focuses on items for the kids during the raffle... not during registration though. and yes, always a good idea.

You are more than welcome to help Dave secure items too. Be sure to touch base with him.

Sorry James, only used stockers here and I think one Newfield. they are yours of course if you want them.

No Fun Day for us, Cindy has to work.

John,
If you want to put some items together for a kids goodie bag at Registration that would be great. Bring them to Fun Day and I'll take them up to Tony's with the other Goody Bag stuff. We need 15 to 20 items. This covers most the kids under 10 or 12.

Last year we got the younger kids 4x4 Matchbox Cars and handed them out before the raffle. They seem to enjoy them. I saw some (cars not kids) rolling off the rocks behind the stage. We did some kiddie Goodie bags 2 years ago at the 20th Rubithon as we had a sponsor provide Tread Lightly Coloring books.

Dave

Had a bad night. I think that is fine Dave. Do we need the actual bags as well or will we load up some of the reg. bags with the goodies ? I think some raffle prizes for kids can be found around the house as well. Please update the head count for kiddies prior to fun day as I will put the stuff together that Thurs. before Funday.

rafts
fishin poles
kids sleeping bag
toys(wii games etc.)
gift cert. for target
glow stick sets
kites
just ideas so please throw out your ideas so we can get a nice stack goin, i am very proud of the Rubithon raffle although skunked for a few years I really enjoy it and want to help make it as full and fun as possible. I think Dave does a stellar job.

Special thanks to Dave. He has a set and I will be back on the trail for the con! Tony - guess we will see you at the Rubi then.

OH JOHN,
Sorry you had a bad night, and you know I was kiddin about the day care.

And DAVE,
You know if you need anything from me, just let me know.

James,
All I use are stock birfields, usually get them for cheap cause nobody wants them. High supply only my demand hee hee hee.

Tony,
You not comin down for FUN Day? (Michael hangs his head in sarrow)

Kid Stuff Idea..(Sort of like they did with the other event recently.)

*With the new fishing and stocking regulations, why not just have the kids go "Lug-Nut Fishing" like my Grandpa used to do with us when the lake was low.

5 gallon bucket filled with creek water, some sticks with a piece of string on them, tied to a magnet.

A bunch of "Lug-Nuts" (usually just some steel nuts they cant swallow) and have a "Fishing Contest" at the campground.

Then hand out prized for "Most Caught", "Biggest Catch", "Smallest Catch", etc??

Take them around with a few adults to supervise and show them the area, identifying plants, rocks, etc.

Basically the goal being to keep them entertained while sharing why we love the outdoors.

Question : I sent my Registration in a month ago and have not received any information to confirm my registration from TLCA or anyone ?

Have you guys gotten confirmation/ packet or anything ?

NO not yet, but I have yet to send in my reg anyway, I will probably do it next payday, when funds are available.

But I think that they wait and send them out all at once, however I could be wrong, either way it will come.

Sorry Skim... I am always behind the eight ball on getting these out!

However, confirmation are flowing out as we speak! If you have registered prior to the last week, you can expect a confirmation by this weekend.

Note: expect snow. No, we are not postponing.

Usually there are no campfires, continue with that thought but my gut tells me fire restrictions might still be low.

Remember, Rubithon is the hardest TLCA event offered where you enter at point A with all your gear and tools and parts in the back of your truck, camp along the trail as you wheel the hardest trail in N. CA that remains legally open, continue to pack up every night and wheel to another camp, and eventually pop out at Point B.

Weather forecast: Yes, there will be all types of weather. Expect it, plan for it, embrace it.

Tony - let me know if you still need volunteers to help prep the trail.

Saw your post on the pirate thread and thought I would post up here as well (my name is webwhlr on pirate).

What are you sayin, TONY?

Are you sayin there is gonna be some snow on that there mountain when we drivin over it?

Cause ya KNOW, I NO LIKEY THE SNOW

I say bring it on. 15 years or so ago I ran the Rubution in heavy snow conditions. Sunny and wet, but snow on the trails. Yee haw!!! Turns it into a whole new trail. Embrace the variations and plan for it. Keep in mind we were on 33"s in those days. Btw fire restrictions are lower. :)
