I'm in. Can we leave yet?

There's no date on the TLCA website for the '17 Rubithon yet (no surprise) but based on this year June 21-26 I'd imagine it's around the same time next year (June 20-25?). This would be an awesome trip. The planning has begun!

Rubithon is supposed to be the last week in June according to the book. Rubithon is probably the busiest that trail gets. I am two minds about the date. Rubithon would be almost better than the overland expo for all the rigs and equipment. But soooooo many people on the trail will also take away from the experience.

Are you thinking of going with your 80 with it's powerful 3FE? Thought about hauling a FJ40 over but if I wasn't afraid my FJ62 would be a hold up to a caravan would take if it I went.

I will hopefully have the 2uz built and in by then. If I don't then yes it is a slow 3fe boat to Rubi. Either way I plan to leave with enough time to spare so we can accommodate any of the slower vehicles.

I would need to get a few thinks done on the FJ62 first, mainly seal up the transfer case. No plans for a engine trans plant. Have that V8 in our 4th gen 4Runner. That would be a great ride for the trip over but ground clearance is awful on the trail.

Well we have 3/4 of a year to prep.
