I'm looking to ship my truck from NC to Reno so I can do Rubicon this year. I'll either ship both ways or drive out and then ship home. I'm hoping that somebody knows a point person at the local Toyota dealer since that would be less of a pain for everyone involved and cover liability better. If not, does anyone have a secure area for parking my truck for a week or so and have a flexible enough schedule to take delivery/ship while I'm flying?

When I sold my 4runner to a guy in Minnesota, he just used an auto shipping company. I took everything down to their "port" and dropped it off. The port is a local tow company's yard. It was cheaper to have them ship it from port to port. Plus there was no charge for the time it spent in the yard waiting to be picked up.

Hope that helps.

Also you will love the trail, if you get a chance try and run Fordyce while you are out here as well. Both are great trails.

Might have to look into that. Both Reno Toyota and Carson City Toyota have given me the polite "no thanks" treatment on helping me. Go figure. The local guys would help me since I know them, but no way those guys will take the liability.
