Anyone going next weekend... going to be COLD but we're going to go play one last time before the snow comes.
Going to be in my wife's pickup this time around, red 82. We'll be a with a couple of heeps, a Cherokee and a TJ. Say hi if you see us.

I'm out of here tomorrow morning.

First time to the Rubicon without the cruiser, but we wanted to take a lot of extra stuff due to the cold weather, so the pickup is going to get to do the Rubicon for the first time.
I'll post some photos when we get back, should be a good weekend.... it's always a good weekend camping in the mountains.

It was a great trip. Drove up Friday afternoon, got there around 5 and camped at Loon. Moved along pretty quick and had lunch at the Little Sluice, there were quite a few people at the sluice. Made it to Buck Island Saturday afternoon and called it a day. Had a great camp site, had a nice night there. Started off kind of late in the morning and we got a little rain/snow for a few minutes, but it cleared up after half an hour or so, just enough to knock the dust down and clean the windshield.
We made really good time down into the Big Sluice and at the bottom of it we found a Willys that had been rolled hard the night before. As we were trying to figure out how to get around it, they owners showed up and were pretty banned up. We helped them pull the Jeep off the rocks and gave them some coolant and were on our way.
Had lunch at the Springs and went up Cadillac hill. At the top we parked and fixed a leaking coolant hose on the Toyota. We didn't get out until after dark, and it was a cold ride home with half doors on the Toyota at 11pm in Tahoe... but we had an awesome trip. Only damage was the Cherokee dented his rocker panel and one of the rear doors, and we lost a mud flap somewhere along the way and the coolant hose.
I was the only one who had been through the whole trail before, and everyone loved it. We had an awesome weekend. Now it's back to real life again... sigh...
