I'm going to preface this by saying my only Internet connection is my cell phone so search is cumbersome.

My truck died today while coasting to a stop light. All the electronics still work, it cranks just fine, it just won't fire. I think it must be fuel or ignition related. I haven't had time to dig into it yet, but is there anything I should look at first? Nothing is obviously disconnected or broken...

Will it start at all? Does it appear to be fuel starvation?

Check the fuel injector and fuel pump fuse and relay. I had a similar problem last year and it was a short in a wire going to the fuel pump (inside the fuel tank).

Quick look at the FMS suggests:

ECM
Fuel pump

Could be something else related to the fuel system, plugged filter, etc.

Cranks just fine, just doesn't start. Ran perfect right up to when it died. The fuel relay in relay box in engine compartment? Also is there a separate fuse for the injectors? Thanks!

Did it sputter out or did it just flat die in the middle of the road? My Tacoma did this twice when it started getting around 100K miles for some reason, I reset the ECU and blamed it on bad fuel, and refilled the tank. It would restart but it would take sometime, maybe like 4 or 5 tries. Mine sputtered out when it did it. I'd check all the fuses and relays like stated above, if you haven't ever changed the fuel filter now maybe the time to do so, and reset the ECU. I kind of doubt it is spark related unless it is "running rougher than a cob", sounds like a fuel problem, mine was just a fluke both times it happened though.

Ok I've had some time to mess around with it.

It has no spark, and there appears to be no fuel pressure. Checked the ignition coil, and ignitor, they appear to be fine (tried brand new units, didnt cure the problem), then we checked fuel pressure by pulling the return line from the regulator, and got nothing.

The truck literally just shut off while driving down the road, meaning everything works still except the engine will not start. The check engine light comes on when you try to crank it, the stereo works, the dome lights work, the headlights work. Everything. I went through the links above, and I do not think its any of the fusable links, as most of the other electronics die with them, so is there one single fuse that controls both fuel and spark? OR is it possible that the truck will not fire the coil if there is no fuel pressure?

Either several systems failed at the exact same moment, or there is one single point that could fail that would cause no spark, AND no fuel.

I had the same thing replace the rotor. $12.00 part

Have you checked the EFI fuse?

If you check and it's blown, and starts right back up with a good fuse, check the wiring underneath the truck as it runs along the passenger side of the truck back to the O2 sensor.

Sometimes that harness comes loose from the frame and rubs on the front propeller shaft and when it wears through, it will blow that fuse intermittently.

Check out the BEFORE PIC for what that looks like.

The fuel pump won't pump with that fuse blown because the systems are tied together and won't provide fuel w/o spark.

And, well, if that fuse is good.... nevermind.

Good luck. Dan.

The 15A EFI FUSE, or the EFI RELAY? The fuse is good. It got dark, so I didnt get a chance to test the relay.
