Routing cables through firewall on LC16

I am working on new DRL module for my LC16 and need to route wires inside the cabin for a switch. Can someone provide some guidance what is the best way to route cables inside the cabin that easy reversible if needed. Per picture I am thinking about the location #2. Thoughts from anyone who routed cables?

Location 2. Cut the end of that rubber piece off off on both sides and feed through.
 
You definitely don't want to do #1. I ran 6 gauge duplex Anchor Marine wiring in waterproof sleeve (quick thick) through the firewall opening on the passenger side, and it wasn't hard at all to slip through a tiny slit in the boot. I recommend duplex or triple wire that way it's all in a bundle and you don't have to pull them individually. Here's the one I got and you can order it in a lot of different varieties:
