hey since your in reno have you ever ran mustang canyon ?it's behind the old mstang ranch that's closed now there's a huge quarry or some mine there maybe a landfill ,but the canyon is gorgeous and it's a river bed or something.drove up once out of sacramento had a great time,it took sometime to find it but well worth it.....we came in on the side where the firehouse is which is on the oppisite side but it works....you go through the new houses to get there if that helps. it is on the map.....we can only do fordyce and the rubicon so many time before we go in search of new trails....

I believe the above pic is on the trail you call "Mustang." We locals call it "Bronco Canyon".

No dribbles, well a few but I wiped them off with a clean rag before they dried.
I did a lot of very light coats.

Yes the picture is from Bronco Canyon. From High Countrys description is sound like the same canyon.

It's about 30 or 40 minutes from my house if I use the road behind Damonte Ranch HS. I don't think I would compare it to Fordyce or the Rubicon, but it's a fun little trail for a Saturday afternoon run. There is another trail in the same area we call Dead Horse, again not in the same league as Fordyce or Rubicon but a great place to flex out a rig and check out suspension mods.

You like my $25 paint job huh?

Krylon Hunter green, I painted myself in the garage :hillbilly:

For what I plan to do with this rig and it's current body condition it was the perfect solution to the oxidized $200 Maco paint job it had before.

i dont approve of the name... i see NO rust :flipoff2:

and the paint you used was rattle can??? or did you find liquid krylon and shoot it through a home paint gun?

and while we are looking at your rig... why do you blur the license plate?? it seems like 99% of people do this and i was just wondering why.... everyone on the road can see your tag... i just dont see the reason... but i could be missing something obvious here...

It is amazing what you can do with a gallon tub of Bondo and a case of spray paint. :grinpimp:

Two years ago I got to close to a rock on Rubicon and took out a bunch of bondo in the rear PS quarter panel. It took all of an hour to fill it in, sand it flush, and give it a fresh coat of Krylon Hunter Green.

At this point I'm sure there are more than a few purist cringing in front of their PC's. The fact of the matter is this never has been a restoration worthy rig. It was just way to rough when I got it. Now that my technical driving skills have improved I may look at replacing some of the worst sections of rust and the really thick sections of Bondo that have been on the truck since before I got it. But that really isn't a priority for this truck.

BTW I agree about the lic. plate thing I haven't done that in years.

i have just bought an old rusty myself it is the same month and year as yours and i am wanting to know where online you found the parts for yours

Which parts?
The Orion T-case is from Advanced Adapter.
The Toy box is from Marlin Crawler off road.
The Longfields are from Bobby Long.
The High Steer came from All Pro
The Saginaw Power steering is from PSC (Performance Steering Components)
The family roll cage is from Metaltech.

Google any of those to find their web sites.

Just test the front coil over suspension, **** yeah is all I can say. Can't wait for the rear to get done.

36" TSL Super Swampers.
I got them used for cheap. :grinpimp:
Next fall I hope to replace them with new shoes.
I ran those tires till they were smooth as a a babies ass. I had to finally replace them because the side wall were scrubbed so thin they leaked air.
