I have a large Eezi Awn and when we camp in colder weather the bottom of the mattress is a little wet from condensation. I have seen threads before about this but some of the solutions to this problem were expensive.
Any better less expensive fix's out there?

Thanks
Seth

I have the same problem with my tepui RTT

Many boats have the same problem and I did on mine. I read in a puff boat rag that laying strips of wood under the mattress will get air to circulate under it and let any condensation evaporate. It worked on the bunks and cabin mattresses on my boat great.

I ripped some 1/4" X 3/4" strips and placed them under the mattresses about every 9". You could not feel them when laying on the bed and they completely eliminated the condensation.

Just an idea.

I hear about this several times a year. I rehab a lot of tent trailers and build my own brand and I have snow camped a bit and have experienced this as well.

Lack of ventilation is your problem. Crack a couple windows for air flow or install a vent at the apex on each side and above the walls. Alternatively, and also, especially in cold, humid climes install a cotton liner to the ceiling with snaps. This will collect the condensation and help it to vaporize once the sun comes up or, you activate a heater. In the morning you can remove the liner and air it out, out-of-doors. Either way, you need to exhaust the humidity.

People tell me that they don't want to open windows because it lets the cold in. I say, "Lady, you're in a Tent!" Insulation is R-zip. Humidity increases the chill factor.

^^^ Yup.....agreed.

I have owned an Eezi Awn and now a columbus.. the Eezi Awn never had any issues with condensation. We always had it vent properly.

The columbus did get condensation ONCE, but that was user error..
When properly vented they do not collect any condensation...

RTT are like 4 season tents...
