the easiest place is in the bed.

I like swingout bumpers, they look cool, and get your junk out of the dirt. I will never recommend on the roof, it screws up your center of gravity. Plus, around here, all the posers in their Cherokees have their spares on the roof.
 
Swing out carrier. You can put gas cans, Power Tank, Hi-Lift, etc on there too.
 
until you can afford a swing out tire carrier, put it in the bed, keeps the weight back there, just gets in the way sometimes.
 
I just tossed my spare in the back of my 4runner for a while... had it set up behind the drivers seat, on the folded down drivers side passenger seat, ratchet strapped tight.

Then i decided to hack apart my trail-gear bumper...

Honestly though, im just going to get one fabed by Perkins Performance next... As my home made one works, and i have not had an issue yet with it (been to Evans Creek ORV twice with it, and a few other palces) but it rattles and doesnt exactly look aesthetically pleasing.
 
Having had swing out tire carriers in the past........I'm not a fan

That's just my own personal taste

The all shake & rattle, it blocks view & I just don't care for the look

Did have the tire on one save my tailgate once as I slid down backwards on a loose hill & hit a tree, so they're not all bad!

I keep my spare in the back, sometimes on the floor & sometimes on the pass side, standing up
 
Oh, yeah.......x2 on not putting it on the roof, bad for C.O.G.


And what is up with all the poser Jeep guys putting them up there? I don't get it


But I don't get the whole poser Jeep thing anyway
 
I have a buddie that put his spare tire on top of his rooff on his 86 Hilux. It looks ok but wouldnt have been my personal choice idk y he didnt put it in the bed. Yet again he did put a little crane back there for when he goes deer hunting.
 
That is awesome!!!! I like that alot im for sure thats the way I want to build my spare tire carrier! Where did u get the lever? I hope u find the build picks!!! That is also a sick 4runner!

I have seen this lever for this guys spare tire carrier. I remember seeing it before but i don't remember where it was online. Can anyone help me?:confused:
 
I have never seen this lever only that one. This lever is quite elusive and camera shy.
