Heading to Cruise Moab in 2 weeks and in need of a roof rack. Anybody over here know of one for sale that is suitable for an 80 for under $300. I am considering a yakima megawarrior since I already have yakima gutter mounts and bars and have also considered old conferrs. Have been looking for a while with no luck and considering buying a new one to accomodate gear for 3. A few friends have offer to lend one but I would still like to get one of own.

Anybody know GreenBomber in San Diego, I tried contacting him with no luck to see if he still has this for sale?

I bought his bumper, and I think the rack is still available. His name is Ian and he is in Del Mar area. Seems like a good guy.

Got a phone number for him?

I was trying to find it, but I think I may have deleted his PM. I'll keep looking...

EDIT: just found it, send you another PM.

I pm'd him a few weeks ago about the rack as well. Never got a reply either.

Ian "greenbomber" got back to me and the rack he had is sold. So if anybody elase has one or knows of one for sale suitable for an 80 let me know.

Sent you a PM....couldn't attach pics, so here's a couple preview shots. Of course, yours would be sized for an 80 series (50"x 60" is what you're looking for, right?)

Let me know what you think.....

I sent a pm. I looks good. It is hard to tell but are the main bars square and does it have any mess on the floor, can it be easily added and are the cross memebr close enough for a varity of gear? I would likely be carrying gas/water cans, fire tub, grill, maybe a second spare tire in the future and soft items like tents, chairs canopy.

The bars in the pics are ones that I already had on top of my rig when we set the basket up there. We can put bars/flooring in the basket at your desired spacing. If you already have a set of crossbars, this will bolt right on. If not, we can attach gutter mounts to the rack (however many you would want). Would you prefer the rack to be angled at the front (like ARB's) or flat front (like Con-fer)?

I would think a 60" long rack would need about 3 gutter mounts per side to distribute the weight. Being able to attach to existing racks bars (yakima, thule, stock) adds versatility and they are generally lockable. I would think integrated gutter mounts would be more solid but would limit the versatility and ability to transfer to other vehicles unless removable or adjustable. For my case integrated gutter mounts would be more desirable but not necessary.

The sloped front would be more desirable since it may reduce wind noise with the ability to add a wind deflector.

Thanks for the input. Gutter mounts should be easy enough, but we also have provisions to attach to existing rack bars. How about 4" sides or 6" inch sides? I've seen some guys prefer just a platform with no sides. What works best for you? What about a flooring system?
