Roll cage in a 60/62 or 80?

I dont see how tieing that into the body would help at all...it smoosh like paper..

One good knock alone the back and you either would have your Qers pushed in or pulled out pretty bad.

instead of in and out, why not just make the whole thing exo?

Would the cowl hold it? Or would you have to go through the cowl and down to the frame?
In the rear you could attach to the bumper, or to the body panels (with reinforcing). Could also tie into the C pillar go through the body there to get to the frame.

Sounds fun...
Wish I had time, money and a tube bender to try it all out. :)

IMO, making an exo right is going to be a lot heavier than making an internal cage. 60 are fricken heavy as it is. :D

those are for jungle brush and tree limbs not rollovers in the rocks

I understand that. buttt the dents i have alone side of my truck are not from roll overs on rocks. they are from trees...wack a tree with that set up and it seems that it would make the damage worse.

i would have to think that those exo's are attached to inner 'fab works' that attach it to the frame. otherwise I agree that it ain't guna help much.

I dont understand it...they run them half way down....why not just connect them to the sliders or the peice that goes from the sliders to the bumper.....not sheet metal

I think they are attached to struts on the inside, in the dead space of the rear quarter panels that are then tied strait into the frame. atleast that is how I would have it done. the issue I have with that much exo is tree limbs catching hold, and the weight factor.

But I do think Exo-ing just the front windsheild area would make sense cause you would get that extra cross bar (the one along the bottom of the windshield, that you wouldn't get if the cage were inside without messin alot of stuff up. plus the wind sheild would be a bit more protected in a roll over and might even survive intact. jhere again i would tie it into the front frame.

say if ya run it another foot down on the white one and tie it into the slider.....it would not be that much more wieght and would not catch much more on the tree o gauge.

I built the cage in the rolled 80 on the East Coast, not Spencer. My name is Kina from North Country Land Cruisers in Madison, New Hampshire, 603-367-9139. I fixed the rolled 80 and built the cage; not the cage pictured here, but we designed it from these photos. I will post pictures and can build and install any custom cage or bumper.

Ummm, I need one bad. Think it's a long drive from Fl. tho- :D

Schedule it to coincide with the Yankee Toys Fall Gathering, it'll be worth the trip! Good wheelin' and great foliage.

measured the width of a 40 bar

58 inches, then measured the interior width of my 60,58 inches,i think at least you could begin with the hoop of a 40 bar to fab a 60 bar.it could be modified to mount on the rear wheel wells and build forward.HHHHHMMMMMMM

Maybe, I made it to the last one. Holy friggin' wet! But the trails were sick. I had a blast.

I'd love to get the 40 up there for some tubin' action. Kina's the man when it comes to the cages fo' sho'. Plus it's awesome to take the cruiser tour. Thanks again for the hospitality Kina.
