amazing, thank you very much. I would like to buy you a beer when I travel out west when the LC is ready and I have time off work! I will keep my progress updated on this thread

Also, did you use carriage bolts to connect the basket to the supports? I'm worried that hex bolts would interfere with the way the jerry cans sit

No problem, happy to help out. Would love to see your rig if you travel out at some point.

Regarding the carriage bolts, I 100% meant to use them, does that count? Yes, you def should, but I used hex because I had them at home and have been too lazy to swap out. Surprisingly the Jerrys sit fine I think because the Scepter's don't have flat bottoms. 1 "fun" thing I did have happen in early pandemic was parked in broad daylight in front of multi-million dollar houses, somebody actually cut my kryptonite bike cable and stole 1 water can and my one MFC. Couldn't believe it. It was just one of those bike cable locks, but still thought that was enough to discourage. So since I've replaced with a HEAVY duty kryptonite hex chain which now i will say its a bit of a pian to unlock everything and get the cans out. So even more unlikely I'll bother swapping those bolts out

amazing, got a pic of what it looks like all locked up? I live in a pretty high crime rate area, so this is something I'd be interested in doing. I also intend to run locks on the swingouts as well

update. I finally found time to get the bumper on. Thanks to all those who helped. I feel special knowing that I'm 1 of 2 LC owners with a dual swing out RLC bumper! I will continue to follow this thread to help out anyone I can. Just in time for the snow!

Awesome job man! Not the easiest install I know, but the finished product looks fantastic! Looks like you got the wings and plastic on great too. have fun playing in that whopper of a storm I hear you have. I used to live in NY so I remember those well. Congrat's, really looks great! If you need any fuel/water cans I get everything from @VidereStudios https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/scepter-fuel-and-water-cans-for-sale-or.751819/page-14

Pain to get the cans out, but pretty secure.

need info on that grey strap!
Oh yeah I love these things. Looked numerous times at Home Depot couldn’t find anything similar. Comes in a 4 pack on Amazon and has held up perfect even in the AZ sun. Mine is the army green but they come in a lot of colors. They lay nice and flat and the buckle is solid

Some misc notes...

I used 12x 7/16-in x 1-1/4 grade 8 bolts for the rear and wing mounts with lock washers and medium strength thread locker. I then coated all fasteners with black cosmoline to prevent any corrosion.

With the bumper as high and as far in as I could mount it, the bumper wings cover both bearing caps on the swing outs

I used a combination of ratchet straps and a big dead blow hammer to get the bumper where I wanted on the mounts

steel-it coating is amazing despite it's price - I've banged some pieces around that I had coated only 24 hours ago and it held up just great. I will be using steel it for my skids. The fact that its a rattle can will make touch ups super easy.

the rear parking sensors will go off with the tire and basket mounted - something to keep in mind if you have a 16+

That's all I got for now

Hey @NoClue i also recently put some of this this adhesive neoprene in the 4 contact areas on the swing arms. When you latch the arms closed, the 4 spots the arm metal touches the bumper metal the paint wears off quick. I left mine for a while that way but eventually started to get lil rust spots. Grinded the rust off, painted, then added this neoprene. Nice closed seal now too because of the little bit of squish

Yep, I did the same when I saw how close it was to the bumper! Great minds think alike!

I had similar bumper made, it’s in the shipping phase right now. Question how long of an adapter do I need to get my bike rack to clear the tire?

Thanks! The one I have I think is a 7” extension and rises 4”. I’m trying to add some departure clearance when I have my 4 bike kuat on. Guess I’ll see when I get the bumper installed.
