Hi all

Not sure its supposed to be written here but does anyone know the exact size of this O-Ring?

44101E - RING, O(FOR STEERING WORM)

Im in desperate search of some parts form my 1982 Power Steering Unit.

I need these O Rings and the Teflon Rings fitting around them.

Also i tried to get the O-Ring for the Cross Shaft teflon ring. I bought a kit but it doesnt have the Steering worm o-ring and not the fitting teflon ring. And the Cross shaft o-ring is too small hence the teflon ring too...

I don't know the exact dimensions because i would need to rip mine out and then destroy them but id rather keep the old ones in...

Hope someone can help here...

The hydraulic shops I have been too all have big books that allow you to find seals/o-rings/spacers from the measurements of the actual parts. I'm fairly sure Toyota used standard parts not some custom made one off item so it can't be repaired. If no one can help then pick a convent down time and figure out the part #. I would think you should be able to get the parts in like 2 weeks. If you are careful and the seals aren't cooked you might be able to put it back together.

Have you looked for a used pump, perhaps eboy - maybe an add in the classified wanted.

It's for the Gearbox. I think the Pump is fine.

Well I have a damaged o ring from the cross shaft and it is 35.4 inner diameter. And so far I was not able to find 35.4 mm ID and 4mm thickness. That's why im bit frustrated.

Thanks for the tip. Didn't think about hydraulic shops! I'll drive by one with the parts and see.

While we are at it what do you thing about the shaft here:

I polished with 1000grit not sure it will hold... I can't feel groves with my fingers but there must be tiny ones.

I'd run that shaft. It's hard for me to feel much less than 0.005" of an inch these days. Seeing isn't getting any better either. Old age isn't for sissies. There are some "super oil treatments that bond molecularly to the metal" I would finger dunk apply some to the discolored area. Energy Release and Prolong are two.

You know that size can change due to pressure, heat, chemicals, it becomes a judgment call to get the closest standard fit to your size.
