Nice bumper. The next time it is put to the test I am betting on you to win.

More developments

I decided it is time to update with the latest mods.

The rear bumper is finally done, with the exception of a swingout which I plan to complete sometime this fall. I'm going to do a ladder with a bike rack to handle 4 big downhill bikes. I know a few people have been pretty interested in what I'm coming up with for a rear bumper, and I'm very happy with how the appearance and function of this one turned out. I've dragged it through a bunch of nasty cross ditches, and its held up super good. I want to refine the design before building another though, mainly to do with the structure behind the sheet metal.

I also put in a 1" rear and 1 1/2" front spacer lift. The rears are poly spacers from MAF, and the front ones I built in the style of the Metaltech offerings. I also did extended diff breathers, with both ending high in the engine bay with an inline fuel filter on each.

Every time I see a stock swing away spare I want to sell mine and import a new one.

T-cast skid plate

Built a new skitplate for the t-case the other day. I liked the idea of having something that provided coverate all the way from frame rail to frame rail. Made of 1/4" plate, and picks up existing threaded holes in the frame and transmission cross-member. There's about 1/2" clearance to the t-case, just in case it flexes with a hard hit. I didn't put in a hole for the drain port on the t-case since mine has the case with the drain in the rear (not the bottom) It only takes 5 min to remove the plate which I can put up with the for the once a year or so I'll do the t-case fluid.

Every time I look at this rig again, it looks better and better. Man, I wish I had fab skills, and tools, to be able to do the stuff you are doing!!!

I also want to see your downhill bikes. What are they, Specialized, Fezzari, Mongoose, what? Keep on rockin' your mad skills!

I ride a Norco Shore. Monster-T front fork. Kinda like a Land Cruiser. Its an over-built tank of a bike that will take anything I throw at it:bounce:

And weighs about the same :p :D

I wish I had your fab skills and tools. I'd love to be able to build my own stuff. You do nice work!

LOL. My brother has a full susp XC race bike, and it weighs about as much as my front fork and wheel. My bike's about 48lbs. Doesn't go up hills well, but down works quite nicely :D

Down is the fun part! Up is what chairlifts and shuttle buddies are for :D

Nice video! Jason.
In the first video, I saw your left side slider dragging on the rocks. Did you?

On the way up I dragged the right side, and one the way down I dragged the left. Took off the paint for about 2 feet, but didn't put that much weight on the slider.

Guess I need a lift, hey?

Great story and great truck. Would love to see an interior shot. Did you say oem fridge and ice maker?

The console is a fridge, and there is a couple of tiny ice cube trays in there too. Runs off the A/C system, and keeps beverages quite nice and cold.
