Rhyolite Ghost Town

Well for Christmas I will be in Nevada for more than a week, so I plan a side trip up the 95 to Rhyolite. This old ghost town I have not seen yet, and it is very accessible with several ruins. Any tips for other side trips in this area. I plan to stop in Beatty and explore around this general area/hills. Also will check out some of the sand dunes on the way up the 95.

No way I can just sit in Henderson all week. I may check to see if Mt. Charlston is open and head up there as well.

Sounds like a blast. Please take tons of pics! I dont have any tips or side trips for that particular area other than be safe and have fun!

There's a really huge old mine not too far back up the road from Rhyolite. Certainly worth a look. Cruiserdrew may remember it's name. Also, Rhyolite is near the beginning of Titus Canyon.

Chloride cliffs and side trail are a good one south of Rhyolite.

Titus Canyon after that.

Rhyolite is pretty interesting but I've heard some of the ruins are fenced off now, used to be able to walk up into everything around there
