Yeah, that stuff is pretty tough by itself. The tape is there really just as a 'mold' until the liner dries, not as an integral support part.

The tape must stay adhered to the vehicle, though, and the liner must stay adhered to the tape.

Thanks. I think it will tie in even better once the sliders are on. Plus no more worrying about crunching the flares in the woods. Now I can crunch actual sheet metal.
