Anyone know where I could find a replacement leaf spring kit for a solid axle truck? Who sells them? I can't seem to find a good economical kit-type set. Would like a few inches of lift. Suggestions?

do not buy rough country, or tough country!

i replaced those with pro-comp front springs, and add a leaf in the rears for now, i am going to order the pro-comp rear springs, after i get concrete poured in my shop.

I'm running RC 3" lift (frt and rr springs) as a temporary mod till I can do better. I bought it on sale for under 300 bucks as I recall.

Too stiff for my liking. But it was cheap... so there ya have it. Kit was complete and the truck sits level and sorta clears 33's (hit's the pinch welds and bottom of front fender).

The rear springs won't carry a load, so I've mixed in some old re-arched springs, not shown (I spent like 10 bucks for the re-arch)... still not great. U bolt flip not included :D

...oh, and extend yur bump stops... :o

So the Rough/Tough Country springs provide lift, but you give up all semblance of a comfortable ride. Hmmm.

The stock front springs on our truck are neg arched. I am guessing they were flat when new, and over time they sagged. Is that correct?

Pro-Comp stuff is pretty spendy. Hmmm.

Gotta think this over some more.

Thats not a spring problem, thats a shackle problem.

A flat spring will get shorter when it compresses. A flat spring will get shorter when it droops.

In stock form a short little wimpy shackle is fine.

But if an ARCHED lift spring is used (no matter who makes it) will need longer shackles.

The lifted arched spring will get LONGER when compressed and will then lock/lay the shackle and spring eye against the frame like that and ride like poop. It will also get shorter when it droops and will pul the spring eye under and lock inside too sometimes.

Both problems solved by a longer shackle, not a different spring.

Agreed. Or longer bump stops and leave the ride hight alone. and yes it limits articulation and I suppose it could invert.

Hey Rigger, might also consider the ever popular RUF (rear up front) and 63" Chevy's for the rear. It's not just a bolt on mod tho, cuttin' and weldin' required.

the first thing i tried was longer shackles, it did not help my springs, the passenger side still rested on the frame.

I would measure those then. They coul dbe third gen rear springs. They should not be long enough to do that, and deffinately not with a longer shackle.

Third gen rears are a few inches longer than second gen springs. That might be what happened.

This is exactly the kind of thing I would be looking for for my wifes mini. Of course the website didn't have any prices. I considered going the rancho 44044 route but they're 185 each spring! I don't want a 4 or 5 inch lift. That's quite a bit overkill. Goal tire size is a 31 or 32. This rig doesn't need to be big. But because I have a hard time holding back might end up with 33's. Still fairly small.
