Ok my truck sat for like 6 years pretty empty tank. when i got it thing had cloged injectors. had them done replaced fuel filter . did a 5 speed swap exc exc. finaly went wheeling hit some bumbs started running like crap. afterchecking all kinds of stuff. i decided to pull the fuel pump and see how things looks on its end. Figured the screen was filthy and needing replaced. I discoverd my screen on the pump had holes in it. rust on the fuel pump houseing. and i ended up cracking a metal fuelline thats now discontinued. I can get replacement fuel tanks. 14.8 gallon non turbo 4runner fuel tank or a 19 gallon turbo 4runner fuel tank. will the turbo tank work in place? just need to make new straps corect?

If not im gonna run a inline filter then a inline fuel pump and run new metal lines to the factory filter. but i would like to be able to have the extra fuel of the 19 gallon tank.

If it fits i dont see why not get the bigger tank. Id be curious to see the differences in shape of the two tanks. The driveshaft runs fairly close to my non-turbo gas tank. The stock tank hangs pretty low below the frame and looks like a great rock finder on my truck. Id be curious to see how the turbo tank affects these observations.
Sorry i dont have any real advice.

click the link it shows the two danks . to me the side of the tank the filler neck is on doesnt slant as much on the bigger tank.

thats the million buck question does anyone or has anyone used a turbo tank in a non turbo 4runner or pickup?

so does anyone no whats difrent between the two tanks.

realy 266 people vied this and nobody has ever tried to put the 19 gallon tank in a 4runner or mini . out of a turbo truck? Anyone got a turbo truck that can take pics of there fuel tank. so i can see if its wider or longer or if it hangs any lower maybe some measurements?

I was under the truck today and noticed that there is some extra room around the top and center side of the tank on my 86 with what i assume is the stock non-turbo tank.
Is there anyway for the parts house to send you some measurements of the turbo tank and the regular tank? then you can crawl under the truck to measure if it'll fit.

im not shore havent contacted them yet. was hoping somone done the swap already. lol. I also discoverd that jc whitney has a 17 gallon tank on there site.
