I have owned my "78 FJ40 for a little over a year now. I live in Downers Grove and travel for work to Minnesota and Iowa. I have enjoyed attending the MNToyX4 club meetings for the past 9 months and attending an event they held in northern Minnesota. It seems like there are enough cruisers in the Chicago area to support a TLCA club. Is thee still interest in renewing the Windy City Cruisers? I would be willing to help get it going

Several folks on the FJC forum were interested in doing the same thing. Everybody was all about a club thing but nobody wanted to put any work into it to get it off the ground. If you look at the sticky thread in the Windy City clubhouse, you'll get a good idea why it remains dead.

If you do feel the need to be part of a club, check our neighbors to the east. The Hoosier Cruisers are a great bunch of folks that we wheel with a few times over the course of the year. I wheeled with these guys often enough that I joined their club.

Clubs are fine for folks that like them. Most folks seem to be content just talking up a wheeling trip, gathering some buds, and hitting the trails. The club rules prohibit many from attending due to their junk not meeting some standards.

TLCA is a good group, but not for all. It is nice to get a magazine, sticker, and little plaque. But following all of the rules.......Different story.

That being said, if yu want to put forth the effort, go for it. You might be suprised how many join and have a blast with it.
