I need advice/suggestions/tried and true method to remove silicone sealer before painting. I described the latest cock-up in my Blue Mule thread (40-55 series). Once the foreman at the panel beater's satisfies himself that paint just ain't gonna stick to that stuff, we will need to get enough of it cleaned up, preferably without damaging the Rust Bullet underneath, so a top coat of some variety of paintable sealer/caulk can be applied. Otherwise, those seams on the tub (and maybe elsewhere) are gonna be UGLY!
Thanks. We're gonna cut as much down as we can, then use plastic or wood to try to lift it out of the seams. Then a stiff nylon brush, and finally solvent to clean - hopefully without lifting the Rust Bullet. Then we'll try sealing up the necessary seams with an paintable acrylic sealer if I can find enough. Only have one tube so far.
