I want to put a late 80s brake master in my FJ40 but the master is set up for front disks, rear drum. I need it to work on drums all around. From what I understand, disks do not need residual valves so the front lines do not have thme. What is the easiest way to add the valve to it and what pound (pressure) should I use?

It depends on what you feel is exessive pedal travel. I would hook it up first, adjust the brakes & try it out. If the return springs are forcing your wheel cylinders to retract too far, then you can put in a residual valve to shorten up your pedal travel. Wilwood part # 260-3279 is a 10lb residual valve that we use when people don't like the way their brakes feel.
