I finally succeeded in improving the rear screen situation in my 2016. I never wanted the outdated screens to begin with -- I don't have a DVD collection and I could never really get any solutions involving portable media players to work well. But I DO have two young kids and for long trips, I think it would be nice to have the option for entertainment in the rear. So I ripped the screens out, designed and 3D printed a few prototypes for a new cover, and then added a (removable) RAM mount to hold an iPad. Works like a dream.
