I've upgraded the stereo thanks in large part to info on this site. I disconnected the factory amp there to the right of the glove box. How do I remove that amp? And how do I access the in-dash factory tweeters to replace them? (The low ones that are like seat-level high).

Remove the glovebox and you'll see it; there are two screws on the lower edge of the glovebox hinge. There's a screw at the lower edge of the panel that hides the speaker.

All of this is in the service manual. You should download a copy from the Resources forum, if you haven't already.

That's cool. Thanks for posting that. I don't find anything in there about the stereo amp. Perhaps Toyota calls it something else?

I don't know how I missed that screw before. I spent lots of time down there lately. LOL thanks for the info, that was really helpful. Once I spotted the screw you referred to I had the amp out (and verified my tweeter was OK) in less than 4 minutes. I don't know why I had it in my head that it was complicated and the dash would have to partly come out.

Thanks again.

FWIW, your truck doesn't have a stereo, it has an audio system with a radio assembly. File that away for future reference.
