Remove AM/FM/CD player in 2004 4-Runner

Hi - just trying to help my son. His CD player stopped working. I have to remove it and see if I can replace CD Laser pickup assembly. How difficult is to remove the unit, any special tools ???

I installed and wired a complete audio system in my 4Runner with a Leatherman - literally. Kenwood NAV, JL components/coaxials, Alpine subs, Knu Knoceptz wiring. Dont waste your time fixing the laser on the awful factory HU. Get a scion or equivalent.
