Reinstalling rear window rubber at a later date?

I would like to paint and do body work on my truck next winter. Is it possible to reinstall the tailgate rubber from slo cruisers?
Currently my truck has no rubber in the tailgate

yes. the slocruisers w/s actually stays in place very nicely without weatherstrip adhesive. for final install, i'd use adhesive, but for now, just push in place and have the window hold it.
