Redhead Steering Box?? (1 Viewer)

Anyone use the Redhead steering gearbox to replace factory? Mine has some slop in it. I've use Redhead boxes in Dodge trucks before with excellent results and they make a replacement for my 94 FZJ80, just wondering if anyone had first hand experience with that vs a rebuild with the 105 sector shaft in it. Thanks!

They're bad ass. I've put a couple in some 99-07 Powerstrokes and some 04.5-06 Cummins. I was going to get one for my 4Runner but went with a brand new box from Trail-gear to avoid the Core Charge since I'm keeping my original to keep as a spare.

Did you provide the upgraded parts for the rebuild? or did you order it as an upgraded steering box? I need one of those!

They do! I don't have any experience with them outside of Dodge trucks, have them in a couple different ones in the family, my dad's got a redhead rebuilt box in his 2010 ram 2500 with a Cummins, brothers got one in a 98 2500 with a Cummins, one in an '07 Cummins 2500, and one in a 96 3500 dually flatbed Cummins. Dodge builds a crappy gearbox haha. This company, redhead, rebuilds everything and when they do the bearings they put in a much better sealed bearing system and they blueprint everything so it's as good or better than factory spec and they build it with better components than factory.

Yep, just put one on my 100 a couple months ago. No complaints. Bought from them based on the good experience I had with a rebuilt box on a Ford truck in the past.
