In Seattle I have used 'Car Tender'. They got my truck to pass emisssions, and made it a personal vendetta. In the end they did more work than they charged me for, but I suspect that's not the norm. I never imagined it would pass, with a bad head, and all kinds of malfunctioning emissions control parts, Idling at 2,000 rpm and blowing blue smoke like a devil. Their badass mechanics bypassed the bad parts, tuned it up, and made it work. What more can I say.

These guys just rebuilt the transmission in my 89 FJ62 and I can't say enough good about them!!

They're in the Tampa area of Florida if anyone needs a top rate rebuilder...this is the man!!!!

Did he rebuild just the transmission or the tnsf case also. Did he replace the rear transmission output shaft?

Phoenix area mechanic found.

We bought an 84 FJ60 and took it to Sundance Automotive in Mesa for service and the start of our upgrades.
Big mistake.
They botched the job badly and the MAF lift kit they installed was a failure. Welds that looked like bird poops and they took a week to put things on wrong and poorly. Things started falling off after a few hours of dirt roading.
I was referred to Toy Specialists in Mesa who seem to be putting things together for me.
Vern came with high recommendation from MAF. They seem like nice competent people. Yipee.

Ask for John or Witness (Yes, thats his name. Witness)

They have done all kinds of work on my 85 FJ60, most of it preventative.

brakes, cooling system, knuckles, oil leaks, clutch work, steering, etc etc etc.

always honest, top notch, reliable and fast too. For example, when I first bought my truck I had no idea what type of condition it had been in so I took it in to get the brakes replaced. They called me up and said the brakes were fine and all it needed was some minor adjustments. Total cost $0. Tell them Ramon sent you.

Any recommendations on the San Francisco Bay Peninsula (near San Jose)? (closer than Mudrak)
