My rear windows stopped going down Via-the driver side window controls. They also don’t go down if I hold the unlock button down to open them. The only way they work is if you use the rear window door controls. All the fuses are good, is it the driver side window control panel thats shot? The driver side windows and door locks work fine using the d/s panel too.......

I’d probably try re-plugging the wiring for the window control unit in the armrest before anything else.

You can access the wires without full door panel removal. Pop the lid from under the interior door release handle l...remove the screw. Then pop the panels (they sound horrible, but come off without damage). You can then access the wiring harness for the controls.

If reseating the door panel plug...

I can’t remember for sure, but so think those wires drop down to another plug at the front of the door jam under the step panel (pops right out with prying IIRC). Could be water damage down there. Maybe spray rlectrical cleaner and reattach (unhook battery before spraying).

I did pop it off using the removal tool, unplugged the harness and replugged it and still nothing. As far as I can see I have Zero water damage, never an issue.

Maybe your Toyota parts guy would be kind enough to let you TRY a new switch set.

Problem fixed...I guess after the alternator and battery change the rear windows had to be reset? The light indicators on the rear switches were blinking and auto up/down were not working. I held each one down until it went all the way down, and again all the way up and viola everything works...including the remote for all 4 windows rolling down.

Interesting. I don’t have light indicators on my buttons. Glad you figured it out.

We learn something everyday from this forum. Thanks

What is the comment “including the remote for all windows rolling down” ?

Is this a feature on 16+? I tried holding the buttons on my 2015 remote down and nothing like that happened. Didn’t remember seeing a reference to it in the manual, so curious.

Hold the unlock button down for about 3 seconds...and continue holding after windows start rolling down.
It's a function to let heat out of the truck before entry.
But... you do have to continue holding the button down or the windows will stop when you release.
It's a cool feature. I just wish there were a way to automatically roll them UP...so I don't have to press the start button when I forget to close them.
