I'm already a bit heavy (~ 7200 lbs empty) with my TJM front bumper, SLEE sliders, full rear drawers and roof rack with RTT. When loaded for camping, she sits and rides perfect with the 2723s in back.

BUT, I am really wanting to pull the trigger on the 24 gallon LRA tank. Of course, you then have to relocate the spare. And naturally I want SLEEs rear bumper to carry it...amazing how quickly this snowballs, huh?

Anyway, that is going to mean quite a bit of added weight. For those of you already running a similar load, what are you running for your rear springs? 2724s? 2725s? Something else, besides airbags?

Appreciate the feedback and wisdom of Mud.

I think most of us have that have tried 2725s have gone back to 2724s or other solutions. I'd be curious to know if anyone is currently running those? The 2725s while probably just right when completely loaded were just too rough in normal conditions. The Tourflex from Trail Tailor coils are a great option up until 8200 lbs or so but you start to lose height above that. It'd be lovely if there was enough demand for a heavier Tourflex coil. I'm currently running the Tourflex plus airbags to manage the variable weight and the system has been perfect.

I keep adding weight and am wondering about rear coils as well. Currently have the tourflex and seem to be handling it well.

I’m currently front/rear bumper, sliders, winch and a roof rack. Although everything but the sliders (bud built) are dissent and are on the lighter side. Also have rear drawers as well. Curious what happens once the steel skid plates go on. And like you, the long range tank will go in at some point after that. I have never been on a scale, but fully loaded with the family of 4 we cant be light.

All that to say, I like the tourflex, but am curious where I am in regards to that stated 8,200 lbs figure. I didn’t know about that, so i learned something today.

Are you using the Firestone or Tough Dog airbags?

I'm still learning about the Tourflex coils so I'm going to have to do more research (spring rates, height, etc.) to see if I can get away with springs alone. I really like the simplicity of avoiding the bags, but I'll do whatever needs to be done. Had the Firestone bags before when the coils were stock. I'm not worried about the bags themselves, it was the tubing and fittings that seemed to be the weak link.

May also want to think about upgrading brakes. These weights are way over Rated GVW.
I can completely understand the concern. As I've built up this rig, I fully expected at some time to feel the need for upgrading the brakes, but it hasn't happened yet. I've been loaded to just over 8000 lbs many times and never felt like I needed more braking reserve. I use stock rotors with the TRD pads, which do make more dust and definitely wear the rotors faster but their bite is very good.

It probably also helps that I don't drive aggressively anymore...having a steel battering ram up front as well as all the extra weight has made me more conscious of the potential consequences.
