After replacing the sway bar bushings I realized the e brake makes noises when pulling on the cable. When I go over bumps it sounded horrible. When I pull on the brake while going over bumps the noise stops. Is there a way to fix this? Assuming tightening the cable might work?

Hmm....my mystery squeak sounds like this too. I never thought to try that cable. I thought it was just all the rear end bushings at 255k miles. I just re bushed my rear sway bar and that squeak persists . I'll follow this post too see what the fix is and try it

Did you lube it or find out how tighten it?

I sprayed it a year ago and again this week. Not sure if it’s internal or external but it hasn’t really fixed anything. I think tightening would help but I’m afraid that would engage the brakes. Could you upload a video of your squeak while driving?

Video of squeek

I just hung my camera out the window and went up my street. I did manage to capture the sound a bit. I did feel the tension of that brake cable and mine felt taught and made no squeak or clank. Mine is probably something else, I have all the bushings for the rear end from Cruiser Teq- but the shops around me asking for 5 hours about $1000. I'm looking for other options 🫤

Doing the bushings is easier than changing the oil. I did mine and it took me a few hours. If I did it again I could do it in an hour.

I don’t know what kind of room you have at your home. But for a 1000 bucks you can buy a 20 ton press, push-pull kit, OEM bushings, come-along, and still have money left over for beers and burgers!

I didn't need a come along although I own one. Just a floor jack and a spud wrench.

You did rear bushings with a floor jack? How's that?

How? What tools? Any tips and tricks?

I believe it was a 12mm and 14mm socket ratchet extension and ratcheting wrench. And a can of kroil. I did snap a bolt and had to drill and retap but that’s another story.

hardest part was figuring out what pieces went where, so I took one linkage off and matched it with the new stuff. It says you’re in Colorado, I’d bet there’s plenty of people here who would help you for a case of beer.

I’d work the bolts slowly, loosening and tightening added kroil along the way if you feel resistance. Took me 15 minutes to get two bolts out so I wouldn’t snap the heads.

What bushing press did you use? I see I can rent one from Oriellys. Kroil is new to me I'll look into that! I did my rear sway bar and end links last week. Those bolts were toast, but managed to not snap

The bushings I am talking about are the ones in your upper and lower rear control arms. I have a 20 ton press so I just pushed out the old. You can purchase a push-pull kit and and do it that way.
